Halloween Kills (2021)

Post by Krappy » Fri Oct 30, 2020 2:46 am

Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all. Evil dies tonight.

The film will be hitting theaters and the Peacock streaming service on the same date, giving viewers the option to catch it in theaters and at the comfort of their own home. (9/9/21)
Co-writer Danny McBride spoke a bit about the film's storyline in a recent interview, saying: "It takes place the same night, picking up where the last movie ended. Events in the film bring together a lot of characters who were in the 1978 film who we didn’t see last time. They gather to try, once and for all, to take down Michael, to stop this madman." (7/10/20)
Co-writer Scott Teems had a recent interview, where he spoke briefly about the project after having seen a rough cut. Here's what he had to say: "I saw a rough cut of it a few weeks ago, and I'm a little biased, but my gut says that people that like the last one will be very excited about this one. It's like the first one on steroids, I guess. It really is the bigger, badder, meaner version of the first one." (4/20/20)
Actress Kyle Richards will reprise her role as "Lindsey" in the film. Aside from Tommy Doyle, she was the other kid that Laurie was babysitting in the original movie. Also, young actor Jibrail Nantambu has revealed that he'll return as "Julian," who fans may remember as the wisecracking kid that was being babysat in the last Halloween movie. (8/31/19)
It looks like the rumors of Tommy Doyle being in the movie are true, as it was revealed today that Anthony Michael Hall (The Dead Zone series) will be playing the character. (8/26/19)
John Carpenter has recently revealed that he will return to do the film's score. (8/21/19)
There's a new rumor floating around that the character Tommy Doyle would have a role in the film. Fans may remember him as one of the kids Laurie Strode babysat in the original movie. An adult version of the character was played by Paul Rudd in 1995's Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Despite this recent trilogy retconning the past sequels, Paul Rudd was rumored to be offered to once again play Tommy Doyle, but reportedly turned it down due to scheduling conflicts, so it appears that if Tommy does return in this sequel it'll be played by another actor. (7/29/19)
David Gordon Green had a recent interview where he revealed that filming begins this September and confirms that the two sequels will be filmed back-to-back. As far as story goes, he says: "It’s telling the story, moving forward. It’s not another reinvention, or anything like that. It’s this world that we’ve established, and then it continues beyond the events of the first one." (7/25/19)
Universal has confirmed the previously announced release date and that David Gordon Green returns to direct. It's also revealed that the movie will be followed by a third film titled Halloween Ends on October 15th 2021. It's also rumored that this and the third film will be shot back-to-back. (7/19/19)
Nick Castle is set to return once again as Michael Myers. Fans may remember him as the original actor that played Michael in the 1978 film and he appeared again as Michael in certain scenes in the previous movie, while stuntman James Jude Courtney played Michael through most of the movie. It's currently not known if James will come back for these sequels.
Stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer and Andi Matichak are all expected to return.
It was originally reported that Scott Teems (That Evening Sun, Rectify) would script.
This is a sequel to David Gordon Green's Halloween (2018), which was a sequel to the original 1978 Halloween, technically making this Halloween 3.
Halloween Kills was scheduled to be released in theaters on October 16, 2020, by Universal Pictures. However, the ongoing pandemic ensured that release date was cancelled.
Halloween Kills arrived in theaters and on Peacock streaming service on October 15, 2021.

2018's "Halloween," a direct sequel to the 1978 horror flick of the same name, was hugely successful, making more than $250M worldwide — more than any other film in the series. It's the first in a trilogy from director David Gordon Green, who was previously best-known for helming the stoner comedies "Pineapple Express" and "Your Highness," plus the HBO series "Eastbound & Down." The release date for Green's next installment in the slasher franchise, "Halloween Kills," was pushed back to October 14, 2022, due to the pandemic. Curious about the long-awaited return of Michael Myers? Watch this before you see "Halloween Kills."

"Halloween Kills" is the twelfth installment in the long-running "Halloween" franchise, and the second part of what could be described as the series' third (at least) total reboot. Despite all that, don't worry — it's actually very simple.
Slasher movies don't get more simple than the core narrative of "Halloween" — a mysterious shape of a man by the name of Michael Myers has broken out of the asylum and is killing everyone he sees.
"Halloween Kills" picks up right where the 2018 "Halloween" movie left off, with Michael rising from the flames to kill (and hopefully die) again. Does anyone make it out of this one alive? This is the ending of "Halloween Kills" explained.

With Halloween Kills opening in theaters this weekend and also streaming for free on Peacock, the other day I got to speak with Jamie Lee Curtis, director David Gordon Green and producer Jason Blum about making the sequel. During the interview, they talked about what fans would be surprised to learn about the making of Halloween Kills, why shooting the film was an out of body experience for Green, how they all really get along, the massive ambition of the sequel, what it’s really like shooting nights for two months, how they never lie to each other, and more. In addition, Curtis talks about why Laurie Strode would have been happy to have died killing Michael Myers and protecting her family, and her approach to playing the “he’s still not dead” moment in this sequel.

We talked to actress Judy Greer about putting on that bloody Christmas sweater once again as she portrays Laurie Strode's daughter in "Halloween Kills."

During the interview, they talked about what fans would be surprised to learn about the making of Halloween Kills, why Michael Myers and the Halloween franchise has been popular with so many people for so long, if any of the brutal kills were too much for them, and more. With Halloween Kills now playing in theaters and streaming for free on Peacock, I recently spoke to director David Gordon Green about the making of the sequel. During the wide-ranging interview, he talked about how he made a bet on the set of the first Halloween that if the film made one hundred million dollars he would get his first tattoo (which he shows on camera), if Kenny Powers could take down Michael Myers, why shooting all nights makes it a difficult shoot, if he had any battles with the MPAA over the brutal kill scenes, how they had to restage a sequence on a soundstage and it turned into one of his favorite sequences in the film, the ending, how the Blu-ray will have an extended cut, who gets to keep the mask, and more. In addition, Green talked about the final chapter in his trilogy, Halloween Ends, the status of the script, when the film takes place, how they’re going to start shooting in January, and more.

Michael Myers returns once again to prey upon the town of Haddonfield...but this time Haddonfield has had enough! Does Halloween Kills deliver what I was missing in the previous film or was it a crushing disappointment?

And the Halloween night when Michael Myers returned isn't over yet. Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie's basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie's trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster. The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael's first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all.

Michael Myers returns to Haddonfield and he's stabbier than ever in Halloween Kills, the sequel to Halloween 2018.

An explanation to why we got that hospital scene with the inmate in the flashback scenes. Touching upon the Halloween Kills ending and if Karen dies or is still alive. Even theories and speculation to what will happen in Halloween Ends.
