Finding a ghost named Ernest haunting their new home turns Kevin’s family into overnight social media sensations. But when Kevin and Ernest go rogue to investigate the mystery of Ernest’s past, they become a target of the CIA.

Netflix will debut the film via their streaming service.

Filmed in Louisiana.

Directed by Christopher Landon (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, Happy Death Day, Freaky), who was quoted saying: “I really wanted to flex certain muscles that I felt like I had, but I hadn’t been able to use yet. One of those being this big, sweeping, emotional story that really pays off at the end.”

The ghost in this movie is nicknamed “Ernest” (due to his likeness to actor Ernest Borgnine) and is played by David Harbour (Stranger Things, Hellboy, Black Widow, Violent Night).

Based on a short story published on Vice’s Motherboard on October 2017 by Geoff Manaugh.

We Have a Ghost premiered on Netflix on February 24, 2023.
